My Story

For many years now, I’ve developed a passion for helping others overcome the same fears, shame and limiting beliefs around vocal performance and public speaking that plagued me for so long. No one should needlessly suffer through those things that limit the full expression of their inner, unique genius. I believe that everyone has an inner, unique genius that is needed in the world and that needs to be fully expressed!

Early in my singing career, I developed a strong sense of stage fright during my freshman year in college. I was in the opera program, and had won some leading roles. But rehearsing was difficult and performing felt worse. I performed very well and directors, peers and audiences loved my singing. But, I felt that they were rarely up to what I believed was my highest potential. I remember before every performance I wished that the theater would burn down, or there would be no power, so the performances would have to be cancelled. What a relief that would have been! There was so much shame around my fear. I never felt good enough or deserving enough, and that every rehearsal and performance needed to be perfect!

Only through working with a life coach and other mentors did I overcome the fear, shame and limiting beliefs that haunted me all of those years ago and kept me from living my dreams.

Over time, I realized that I had what I call, “Bigger Voices” within me calling me to do things beyond what I thought I could do at the time. I didn’t listen to these voices for so long, not trusting myself. How painful that was.

I had a tipping point though. I started to understand that I had to go within to find what I wanted. I started to listen to those “Bigger Voices” that had been calling to me for so long. I had several singing students at the time and realized that I had an intuitive feeling for how my students were using their voices, where they were holding tension and how to release it. I also found that I had a gift for vocal expression, whether musical or spoken. Soon, people started coming to me to improve their voices for public speaking as well as for singing!

I realized that teaching and coaching singers, actors and speakers is my inner, unique genius. So many didn’t like their voices and were hesitant to fully express themselves. I developed a vocal system that helped students and clients to overcome the suffering of imposter syndrome and limiting self beliefs. I call it the Four Pillars!

Liz’s Bio

Liz holds a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance from San Jose State University. They are a certified Rapid Transformational Therapy Practitioner and Hypnotherapist, as well as a Positive Intelligence Coach Grant participant. Liz continues their education by attending seminars and conferences. Liz loves to nerd out on vocal science and the most current teaching methods!

Liz has a strong background in education having taught in college, elementary and music classrooms for over a decade. They have been a vocal and speech coach for small business owners and entrepreneurs for around 30 years and love to continue to grow.

Liz work with women (loves working with those who are vocal changes because of hormonal changes) and the LGBTQ+ (gender affirming) community speakers who hesitate to fully voice their unique, inner genius that is needed in the world … and that’s frustrating because they have a big story to share that’s burning inside them.

Together, we reclaim their big, bold voice so they can stop shrinking, sing and speak up everywhere, deliver their transformative message, and move their audiences.

To truly communicate our messages, we need to make a heart connection with our audiences. There is a two way energy exchange when the message is transformative and lands in a way that resonates with the audience. It’s a heart breaking, missed opportunity to move the audience into action when this connection isn’t made. This is where Liz loves to close the gap.

Liz believes that everyone possesses a unique, inner genius that is needed in the world. They love teaching and working with people who have a vision and feel a compelling need to express their genius, but haven’t felt confident fully communicating their transformative message through their voices or presence on stage. They have important stories to tell that are burning inside of them, and I want to serve them so they can serve their audiences.

In their years of teaching singing and performance coaching, many have come to me for lessons but what they really wanted was to learn to fully embody their voices for speaking and shape their stories to move their audiences into action. They realized that there were people, especially women, who didn’t like their voices – were told that their voices were too soft, too loud, shrill, nasal, and so on. Liz even had a client who was told that her voice sounded like an air conditioner.

Liz’s mission is to help clients fully express their unique genius through their voices and to reshape the culture of speaking by elevating voices that have been previously silenced or overlooked.

Liz works with people who are creatively blocked by anxiety and perfectionism. Liz and their clients co-create solutions to the problems of performance and social anxiety, and quiet the left brain, judging, Saboteurs.

Liz uses: RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapy and Hypnotherapy), Positive Intelligence Coaching, Centering exercises to release the root causes of the inner critic and limiting thoughts and feelings that hold them back from achieving their dreams.
